Meditech Training

Please carefully review the following information prior to beginning your Meditech training.

This is a web based learning program that is a self paced, interactive simulation activity that allows the end user to achieve a feel for the Meditech documentation and electronic record applications. Training provides instruction on basic navigation and functionality.

This program is divided into two applications, EMR and PCS.

EMR-Electronic/Enterprise Medical Record is a compilation of data from various applications that makes up the patient’s medical record. This training module instructs the user how to navigate and view data in the electronic medical record. This training is made up of two chapters. A quiz is to be completed upon the conclusion of the second chapter.

PCS-Patient Care System is Meditech’s electronic documentation application. Members of the clinical interdisciplinary team document their findings electronically via prebuilt assessments and free text notes entry.

Passwords

This simulation program requires the password training to enter. This program password is case sensitive and must be entered in lower case.

At the simulated Meditech Log in screen, type your last name (up to 7 characters) then your first initial (Please make sure that you enter your name exactly as instructed otherwise you may be required to repeat the training). Enter the password training. Meditech usernames and passwords are not case sensitive.

Points to Remember

There is audio associated with this program, so ensure volume is turned up.

To maximize the viewing area of your screen, use the F11 key to hide the web tool bar. If you do not hide the tool bar, you will need to use the scroll bars to see the corners of the screens.

When an area is highlighted in RED, it requires an action by you. You must wait for the audio to complete before you can click.

If an area is highlighted in GREEN, it is to alert you to the feature.

If your keystroke (eg, F12) does not advance the screen, you are able to move forward by clicking on the play button located at the bottom of the screen.

There is a Table of Contents which allows you to go back and review within the module.

As this is a simulation, the dates and times of documentation will not reflect real time.

When answering quiz questions, select your answer and then click submit. The outcome of your answer will display. Click on the outcome to advance to the next question.

Please use your school email address when submitting completion of a module or chapter.

Hint**If you have already completed module 1 and wish to start the review at PCS module 2 or 3, replace the number 1s in the address with 2 or 3. Or if you wish to start at chapter 2 of EMR, same idea, replace the number 1s after chapter with 2.
